6 handicapper Mark, a local member, carded a gross 72, net 66, good enough to take both the net and gross prizes.  His round was all the more remarkable as the only player on the day to break par!

Mark ensured the trophy stayed in the Club following Phil Murphys win in 2008.

Ted carded a gross 75 to finish equal with Glen MacBryde from Newcastle Golf Club and Steve Wilkins from Mosely.  2 extra holes were played before Ted emerged victorious.

Ted also picked up the Team trophy with Frank Wallington who recorded a gross 78.

Mr Holland just pipped Aden Kealy from Halesowen Golf Club, who also carded a 71, on count back.

Aden, playing off a handicap of 6, recorded a net score of 65 however, which was the best net score of the day.

Handsworth’s own Matt Larvin and Adam Moran finished 3rd and 4th with gross scores of 73.

Adam holed his tee shot on the par 3 6th hole for an ace and also won the longest drive of the day.  Unfortunately, needing a birdie down the last to win, he carded a double bogie 7.

His total of 137 is the best gross score in over 40 years.

Neil Shinebaum, playing off a handicap of 9, won the Edwards Trophy for the best Net Score. Neil posted a morning round of 66 and an afternoon round of 68 to claim the trophy.

The Ladies Club Champion for 2008 is Pauline Perla.

Pauline carded scores of 86 & 80 to record a winning total of 166.

Jeanette Willets emerged trumphant in the Gentle Trophy after an 18 hole play off against Alison Shinebaum.
